A German-built Focke-Wulf 190 fighter completed its first test flight in decades after a 14-month restoration in Sivrihisar, in Eskişehir province. The work was carried out by an 11-person technical team from Mach Teknik led by aerobatic pilot Ali İsmet Öztürk, who had the aircraft fully disassembled and rebuilt. Only eight aircraft of the type survive worldwide, roughly half of them in flying condition, making the restoration a significant contribution to aviation heritage.
Over the first weekend of August, the Turkish Airlines group recorded its busiest day ever, carrying 352,715 passengers on Sunday, including its low-cost subsidiary AJet. The same day it operated 1,970 passenger flights and 2,034 flights in total including cargo, both all-time highs. In the first half of the year, 44.5 million passengers flew with the carrier, up 5.5 percent on last year.
Türkiye's exports rose 2.9 percent year-on-year in July to 25.6 billion dollars, the highest figure ever recorded for the month, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat announced on August 3. On an annualized basis, combined exports of goods and services surpassed 401 billion dollars for the first time. The figures were presented in Istanbul together with the exporters' assembly TİM.
