Vattenfall wins both Danish offshore wind tenders after Denmark restored subsidies

State-owned Vattenfall was named winner of the Danish offshore wind farms Nordsøen Midt and Hesselø, together at least 1.8 gigawatts and fully operational by 2032, according to the Danish Energy Agency. The company submitted the lowest bid in both tenders, with guaranteed contract-for-difference strike prices of 504 and 542 Danish kroner per megawatt hour respectively, held for 20 years from commissioning. These are the first contracts under Denmark's redesigned support scheme, built on two-sided contracts for difference with state aid after the country's earlier 3-gigawatt tender drew no bids at all in late 2024.
