Fidan calls for global framework to protect Hormuz, Bab el-Mandeb and the Black Sea
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan told the TRT World Forum in Istanbul on Saturday that growing insecurity in the Black Sea, the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb now threatens global trade and energy supplies. He called for a practical framework built on shared responsibility among states, not a new bureaucracy, to keep shipping lanes open and diversify transport and energy corridors. 'A shipping lane can become a battlefield, as we've seen in the Black Sea,' he said.
