Swedish military doctrine shifts from border defence to striking targets in Russia
Sweden's armed forces are now planning for the ability to hit weapons depots and logistics hubs hundreds of kilometres inside Russian territory, a shift from the old doctrine of defending Sweden's own borders. Military analysts point to the Himars rocket artillery system Sweden is acquiring as central to that pivot, which reflects Sweden's NATO membership and an assumption that a future war would be fought far from home rather than at the border.
