DEM Party ends secret alliance with CHP, in move that could reshape Istanbul's council

DEM Party said on Monday it will reclaim municipal councillors who ran under CHP's banner in the 2024 local elections. The pact, known as the "urban consensus", was never acknowledged publicly by either party. The change could shift council arithmetic in several cities, including CHP-run Istanbul.
