CHP expels 48 members loyal to breakaway leader Özel

The CHP's High Disciplinary Board expelled 48 members on 16 October, mostly figures close to former leader Özgür Özel, who left the party in July with 90 lawmakers to found a new party. The board said members cannot campaign for one party while belonging to another. Kılıçdaroğlu, reinstated as CHP chairman after a court ruling, leads the party whose board ordered the expulsions.
