Corruption raid in central Türkiye uncovers over 2,000 bribery-linked properties

Police detained nine people, including Yahşihan's acting mayor, after raids tied to a corruption investigation in Kırıkkale province uncovered roughly 2,031 properties allegedly bought with bribes and illicit gains, plus an unlicensed pistol and what prosecutors called a record 11,312 rounds of ammunition. Two former mayors from the same town, one from Erdoğan's AK Party and one from the nationalist MHP, were already in custody from a September raid on the same municipality, part of a wider nationwide crackdown on municipal corruption that has mostly jailed opposition mayors elsewhere.
