Türkiye detains journalist, blocks his X account, over minister-resignation post that never happened

Turkish authorities detained journalist Ali Tarakcı on 26 September and a court blocked his X account over a 23 September post predicting that "a very important minister will resign on Friday", a resignation that never happened. Prosecutors invoked the anti-disinformation law, Article 217/A, which criminalises spreading false information meant to cause public fear.
