Centre Party and Left Party locked in standoff over Swedish government talks, Left threatens new election

The Centre Party is refusing to sit in government with the Left Party, while the Left says it will only back a government it is part of, leaving Magdalena Andersson's 28-day mandate to form a government deadlocked days in. Left Party leader Nooshi Dadgostar said the Social Democrats, Left and Greens could start negotiating without the Centre if it keeps refusing to talk; Centre leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist said 'we can't see that we should sit in government with the Left Party.'
