Ankara and Sofia promise closer cooperation against gang crime

Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi told a press conference in Sofia on Tuesday that the two neighbours have to face a new generation of criminal networks together. He said Bulgarian authorities have so far extradited 89 people wanted by Türkiye. The trilateral mechanism on irregular migration run with Bulgaria and Greece is to be widened to cross-border crime and drug trafficking.
