Defense Ministry says any troop deployment to Saudi Arabia needs parliament's approval

Türkiye's Defense Ministry said on Thursday that any deployment under the Mecca pact with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan requires parliamentary approval, with a vote expected later this month. Officials have said the assistance would be limited to defensive support such as air defense and logistics, not a large troop presence, as Saudi Arabia continues to face Houthi attacks.
