Türkiye's Denizkurdu drill puts 14,000 personnel across four seas, one designated zone overlaps Cyprus's claims

Türkiye's Denizkurdu-I naval exercise, roughly 100 ships, 50 aircraft and 14,000 personnel across the Black Sea, the Sea of Marmara, the Aegean and the eastern Mediterranean, runs to 25 September; the day before, on the 24th, it holds a fleet review for foreign observers aboard the carrier TCG Anadolu. Turkish forces kept their Aegean manoeuvres inside Türkiye's own waters, but designated an exercise zone in the eastern Mediterranean that overlaps waters the Republic of Cyprus claims as its own, the same dispute over island and continental-shelf rights that underlies the wider Aegean standoff.
