Turkey asks Interpol to issue a red notice for Netanyahu

Turkey's justice ministry has asked Interpol to seek the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, based on a genocide case an Istanbul court opened after Israel intercepted the Global Sumud Flotilla aid convoy in May. Netanyahu's office dismissed the move and called President Erdogan an antisemitic dictator. A red notice does not bind any country to make an arrest, but it puts Erdogan's confrontation with Israel over Gaza and Syria on a new, legal footing.
