Swedish opposition holds ten-point lead a month before election

A Verian poll for SVT, fielded August 3-16, puts the Social Democrat-led opposition bloc at 53.9 percent against 43.9 percent for the governing Tido parties, a gap that would translate into 196 seats against 153. Under this scenario the Liberals fall below the four percent threshold and would win no seats. Pollster Per Soderpalm said there is no historical precedent for a comeback of this scale before the September 13 election.
