Andersson promises transitional rules for citizenship applications

Social Democrat leader Magdalena Andersson confirmed on Wednesday that her party wants to put a law before parliament under which anyone who filed a citizenship application before 6 June, when the stricter rules took effect, would have it decided under the law in force when they applied. That meets the demand of the Fair Transition campaign. The commitment covers the handling of a large number of already filed cases and comes a month before the election.
