Istanbul Airport sets a European daily passenger record
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said the airport handled 289,732 passengers on Aug. 9, the highest daily total recorded at any airport in Türkiye or Europe. He announced the figure on the Turkish platform NSosyal and tied it to investment in transport infrastructure. The State Airports Authority puts traffic at 39.9 million passengers in the first half of 2026.
