Erdoğan names new ambassadors to Ukraine, the Netherlands and Iceland

Under a presidential decree published in the Official Gazette on 8 August, Fatma Ceren Yazgan, ambassador at The Hague since September 2025, moves to Kyiv, while Mustafa Levent Bilgen leaves Kyiv for Reykjavik. Burak Akçapar transfers from the UN Office in Geneva to The Hague, and Ayşe Sözen Usluer, ambassador to Oman since 2018, becomes the new permanent representative in Geneva. Yazgan has served in both Ukraine and Russia, and Akçapar was a deputy foreign minister before his Geneva posting.
