The PKK dissolution bill clears parliament's justice commission after an 18-hour session

The framework bill underpinning the terror-free Turkiye process passed the Justice Commission after an 18-hour session and now goes to the General Assembly. It would create an executive board chaired by the vice president, with the justice, foreign, interior and defence ministers on it, and a separate monitoring commission inside parliament. Covered investigations and prosecutions could be deferred for five or ten years, intentional killings carried out as part of an organisation's activities are excluded, and the provisions take effect only once a National Security Council decision is published in the Official Gazette.
