Bahçeli says jailed PKK leader should coordinate peace process

Nationalist leader Devlet Bahçeli said Sunday that Abdullah Öcalan, the PKK's imprisoned founder, should coordinate the next, legal phase of Türkiye's two-year effort to end the Kurdish insurgency. He said the government's “terror-free Türkiye” project is now state policy and that there is no turning back. Parliament's oversight commission on the process also set up four subcommittees, covering legal affairs, monitoring, social reintegration and disarmament.
