Türkiye targets 175 GW of solar and wind by 2040 in new energy plan
Energy minister Alparslan Bayraktar unveiled a plan to raise total installed power capacity to 281 gigawatts by 2040, with renewables holding a 77 percent share and 190 billion dollars earmarked for the build-out. The government says the goal is to cut a 65-70 billion dollar annual energy import bill as demand rises toward a projected population of 93 million.
