Central bank says fund scandal's hit to Türkiye's real economy stays limited
Türkiye's central bank said this week that the fallout from September's investment-fund scandal, in which 131 funds worth roughly $18 billion were ordered into liquidation, has so far left the broader economy largely intact: the roughly 3,000 real-sector firms exposed hold just 1.2% of real-sector assets and 0.9% of turnover. Fitch Ratings said the shock has hit securities firms hardest, while Istanbul's BIST 100 index has recovered nearly 5% since the scandal broke.
