Erdoğan ally Bahçeli revives push to expand Türkiye's provinces to 100

Nationalist Movement Party leader Devlet Bahçeli told his party's parliamentary group that Türkiye could have 100 provinces and 1,000 districts in its second century, reviving a debate over upgrading districts to provinces. Analysts say conversion would bring affected districts bigger budgets, partly subsidised by the central government.
