Appeals court finds PM's former security adviser guilty of gross negligence with classified documents

Sweden's Svea Court of Appeal ruled on Monday that Henrik Landerholm, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson's childhood friend and former national security adviser, was grossly negligent with classified documents after leaving them in an unlocked cupboard at a conference hotel. The ruling overturns a district court's September 2025 acquittal. Landerholm, who resigned from the post in January 2025 after a series of similar mishaps, was fined 80 day-fines of 650 kronor each, totalling 52,000 kronor.
