Greece and Türkiye trade dueling airspace notices over the Aegean

Türkiye has reserved five areas of the central Aegean for military drills until October 27, which Ankara's own notice describes as search-and-rescue and environmental activity, and declared "null and void" a competing Greek notice for drills in the same waters this month. Athens insists only Greece may issue such notices inside the airspace it controls, keeping alive a sovereignty dispute that has simmered despite a recent thaw between the two governments.
