Erdoğan touts export growth as Istanbul trade fair closes

President Erdoğan told the closing of the MÜSİAD EXPO trade fair in Istanbul on 26 September that the number of Turkish exporting companies has grown from 33,000 in 2002 to 168,000 last year, part of what he called 24 consecutive quarters of economic growth. He pointed to Türkiye's 2025 per capita income of $18,103 as evidence the economy, now the world's 16th largest, can withstand global shocks.
