Erdoğan authorises 30-year operating rights for Bosporus bridges and highways

President Erdoğan signed a decree allowing the state to sell 30-year operating rights to the 15 July Martyrs and Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridges plus several highways, up from the 25-year term set in 2010. Ownership stays with the state; private operators would take toll revenue, maintenance and investment. Erdoğan himself blocked a 2012 tender for the same assets as prime minister, rejecting a $5.72 billion bid as too low.
