Halkbank raises $1.1B in fresh funding since US case dismissed
State lender Halkbank has raised $1.1 billion in international funding since a seven-year US criminal case accusing it of helping Iran evade sanctions was dismissed with prejudice in June, when a judge tossed the indictment after Halkbank met the terms of an earlier deferred-prosecution deal; total funding raised since then now stands at $5 billion. The bank said the case's resolution improved its standing with international lenders, and it has separately set up a $5 billion note program for further borrowing. Halkbank paid no fine and admitted no wrongdoing under the deal that ended the case.
