The DEM Party brings its congress forward to 6 September

Party spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan said on Thursday that the party's fifth ordinary grand congress is being brought forward to 6 September, and called the newly passed framework law on national solidarity and social integration an important turning point that opens a path toward democratisation without being a final settlement. Doğan also said there is no legal ground for keeping either Selahattin Demirtaş or Figen Yüksekdağ in prison, that the European Court of Human Rights and Constitutional Court rulings should be implemented, and that no new legislation is needed to release them.
