Hyundai becomes the first foreign carmaker to build an electric car in Türkiye

Mass production of the fully electric IONIQ 3 began on Friday at İzmit after an investment of 250 million euros, and Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır said at the ceremony that it is the first time an international manufacturer has produced a fully electric passenger car in the country. The plant will start at 30,000 cars a year. More than half of it has been modernised over two years, and Hyundai Mobis is also building a battery system assembly facility on the site.
