GDP fell in June but the second quarter was strong, Statistics Sweden's indicator shows

Sweden's GDP fell 0.2 percent in June from May, seasonally adjusted, according to the preliminary GDP indicator published by Statistics Sweden on July 29. For the second quarter as a whole GDP was nonetheless 1.4 percent higher than the previous quarter and, calendar-adjusted, 2.8 percent higher than the second quarter of 2025. SCB economist Mattias Kain Wyatt notes that the economy edged down in June after three months of growth, but that activity in both June and the quarter sits clearly above the same periods last year; the indicator's monthly outcomes fall outside the official statistics and are classed as statistics under development.
